Hi Mary

You've raised an interesting point here.
All Communities/Forums work differently and many people think that tehy are just posting "on topic" when they add a thread to an existing forum.

I am not even talking about people who use your list because you have more members or whatever, but people who genuinly think that is how it works at Adland.

When I was new, I could never understand why people posted off topic threads on their own forums and didn't post them "in the right place".  It was only when an older member many months later explained to me that noitifications don't go out to anyone when you do this, that I understood the reason why.

Although, as you rightly say, not all forum owners permit it., i think that it is a good idea to ask the Forum owner if you wish to post a thread and then the two of you cann work together to get it publicized.   So long as it is not an advetising thread - if it is on topic and adds content to the Forum as a whole, I personally welcome it.  Although I do like to be asked first!

Saludos
Jenny

Jenny, Yes, I remember you complaining that you couldn't find topics and couldn't understand why people had such genereic forums. "Sharing Ideas.......", my forum is so broad that I have trouble telling new thread posters they can't post on my forum. But I just tell them that no one has been invited. If they are willing to do the work, it can stay but most just get the delete button. Some time ago, I had one young man who wanted to post a series of 6 threads on my forum then it dawned on me what he was up to. I just told him no one would be invited and that was the end of that conversation. I was not willing to provide the space for his forum when he could do it on his own forum.

Hi Nick, Glad to help our Adlandpro community. To my knowledge you have never tried to post a thread on my forum or on anyone else's. I think you understand the system here in Adlandpro.
