I showed up late as usual! I love your story, mine is similar. I have 2 older half sisters, 2 older half brothers, 2 older step brothers, 1 younger stepbrother, 1 younger stepsister and 1 younger half sister. I counted as an only child! What a mess!!!
My husband and I have 18 brothers and sisters between us counting half, whole and step.
Like you we were determined to break our parents cycles and stay married. We certainly would have not done it without the Lord!!! We have been married 22 years this year.
