Re: USING YOUR NATURAL MOTIVATORS FOR SUCCESS

Hello Marilyn :-)

This is a very interesting article and a favorite topic of mine, while being a trainer.

People might be classified LOL, depending on their achievements and accomplishments, by their NATURAL MOTIVATORS.

This diagram shows Maslow's hierarchy of needs, represented as a pyramid with the more primitive needs at the bottom.

Depending where one is situated on this Pyramid, that is their MOTIVATOR factor. Hm, this is too difficult for my English at this hour LOL!
Anyway, point is that no one is motivated by something that already has. We always want to accomplish more and we grow in levels. This is in my opinion EVOLUTION at personal level.
How fast we grow depends on our ACTS and our DREAMS!
While someone is concerned of his daily existence simply cannot be preoccupied by ... scientific discoveries. This is the theory!
In fact I think, even if this fits till some point it has its anomaly - for example most of the great poets lived in poor conditions, though their creativity is still admired, even if I think this wasn't their MOTIVATOR FACTOR, isn't it. They had some more vivid emotions and a wonderful ability of transpose them into words.

I'll stop here before going too deep into some kind of dissertation LOL.

Thank you for the great inviting to THINK!
With friendship,
Anamaria

Hi everybody, Thanks for the excellent article, Marilyn. I'm like Phil also - I 'live' on many levels. I was looking at the Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs graphic that Ana Maria posted. I agree with the basic idea, but when I look at where I am in my life I find that although I'm self-actualized in a lot of ways, I'm also still working on making progress in the more basic levels. I don't think we have just one 'why' - I think a myriad of experiences and needs come into play which all contribute to each of us finding our particular niche for success. I think I'm a 'social/aesthetic'. My career was in nursing and frankly I don't care so much about becoming rich and famous in my work at home projects as I do about being authentic and honest in providing tools for others. Thanks for making my two brain cells fire at the same time this morning!
