Hello Thomas
On the subject of horses, I have an interesting story to tell you. As true as the day is long too.
Several years ago I used to live along the coast of N. Carolina. North of where I lived, in the outer banks region, there were herds of wild horses that made their home along the beach. As more and more developement took place, the inevitable took place. Humans and horses began to have problems cohabiting the area. Horses were swhowing up in housing developements and houses were showing up in the horse's turf. There had to be a solution. Well, what was decided by the developers and local government officials was to separate the horses from the humans by building fences that would push the horses out of the way without destroying their habitat.
Over the period of several months, an elaborate series of fences and corals were built. then came the big drive. All of the horses were driven into their new home and corraled off from the new developements.
The big day came and the drive was very successful. Unfortunately though, there was one tiny detail that was overlooked by the human side of this dilema. Horses can swim and swim they did. they swam out6 around the fencing and returned to their beaches of choice the following night.
Here are a few links where you can observe these beautiful, and quite resourceful animals.
