Janet,

Congratulations on being chosen.

Most of us live mundane lives and have the nerve to complain at slight discomfort.

Your story touched me but also helped me to understand you.

You are a sensitive and caring person and deserve to have others understand your history. Well done, we all look forward to making your future a memorable one.

Roger

Janet,

I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to congratulate Georgios for such a great honor bestowed upon him by John and Luella -- Man of Courage!!  I most agree that he is an example for the rest of us men to follow.  Congratulations Georgios!!!

Hi John, Luella, and especially Janet.  I have not been into many forums lately, and thought it would be nice to stop by.  Everyone that has Janet as their friends knows what a kind, gentle person she is.  Imagine living in the old days, when you have to state how many are in your family just to buy banana's?, or having to strip your clothes off amosgst strange men that you don't know, because you have no right to privacy?  But wait, those are not the old days.  Janet is still young.  She endured these things in a short period of time.  Those of us that live in the United States take many of our freedoms for granted. She is kind to all of us, and is there for everyone.  In fact, if I'm not mistaken it was Janet that introduced Rina to our community.  Janet is definetely a woman of courage because she has endured so much in a short time and still maintains a strong love for her friends.  God Bless you Janet just for being the wonderful person that you are.

God Bless You

Mike

Dear Luella and John,

Thank you for featuring such a wonderful woman, true woman of courage!

Dearest Janet,

I think, we have a lot in common, as I was raised in so called "socialist camp" also. I understand things you shared with us very well. In USSR, we had to spend a great deal of time in lined to buy even basic things. I remember we had a lot of jokes about our life, it was better to have laugh than desperation, as there was no way to change anything.

Friend of mine went to celebrate 30th anniversary of DDR (East Germany called this way then). When their group entered one of grocery stores, one woman asked whether food was real, as shelves in our grocery stores were empty at this time.

We had a joke that there were two problems in the USSR: 1) To buy food and 2) To lose weight :)

I am happy to know that your dreams came true, you have a great family and wonderful children. You live in wonderful climate. Do you still love bananas? :)

I wish you all the best, you do deserve it!

I am proud to have you as a friend.

God bless you,

Natalya
