I Am With You

I am the Son,

who is a brother to all

I have watched you walk,

when you have not yet learned how to crawl

Believe in the stories,

that carry my name

My Father is love,

and the reason I came

I will feed the many,

and quench all their thirst

They will find me as a criminal,

and my name will be cursed

I was given the task,

to cleanse all mankind

Take away the original sin,

so Heavens gate they will find

So please remember my name,

for I will love you all

And I will always be there,

to pick you up when you stumble and fall.

NOW WHAT?

Patience I have been taught
In lessons sorely wrought
Racing through life at a rapid pace
Reality I would sharply face
Into a brick wall I would smash
Bounce off and keep on going just as fast.
Now, I have slowed down, you see
I walk my road carefully.
Watching out for the brick wall,
Being careful of stones so I don't fall.
Stopping to smell the flowers on the way
I thank God for each and every day.
 

Yet, try as I might,
Just when I thought all was right,
Someone removed the wall!
I did not see the open pit at all.
Well, I fell right in and can't get out.
Now all I can do is give a shout,
I don't want to lose hope.
"Is there anybody up there with a rope?"
