Hi everyone,

Here is a little fun challenge.

Remember that favourite food or sweets (sorry favorite food or candy) that you used to love.

Well this weeks challenge is to get some, if you can't find it, ask here.

Go on, spoil yourself.

I was a kid in England after W.War II and sweet stuff was rationed through shortages. A special treat was Condensed Milk on bread. I loved it. I would secretly steal a whole spoonful and get really admonished if I was caught  It was worth it.

So: This weeks challenge.

Go get some of that food/candy and enjoy, REPORT BACK HERE.

What was it?

Did you find some?

Was it as good as it used to taste?

Can't you find it? Ask somebody here.

Have you searched the internet for it?

Was it something Granny made? If so make some and share the receipe.

I'm off now to but some Condensed Milk. OOOOOh my teeth. Dentists delight.

Good Hunting. Good Munching.

Roger

Hello Judy,

Can't wait to find out what you are looking for.

Yummy! I have just had some Condensed Milk on bread MMMMMMMMMMMM. It is an aquired taste but MMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Also, I found some of those little round discs full of sherbert today. In the U.K. we called them flying saucers MMMMMMMMMMM they still taste good.

This is fun. I will try something else at the weekend.

Hi Roger & Judy,

Something I dearly loved as a child was home made fudge. Most everyone I know makes it with marshmallow cream - yuck - or 1-2-3 in microwave with powdered sugar.

Not right unless made the old way. Smooth as silk and melts in your mouth. ohhh, there goes the diet!!!

If you want the recipe, let me know!!! I goota dig out the book for this one, been awhile.

Blessings

Valerie Clavin

And home made ice cream! vanilla for me and Native Black Walnut for Keith.

Oooooh Valerie,

You have made my mouth water.

Homemade Fudge. We get lots here,  a couple of counties away in the West of England where its made with Cornish Clotted Cream, however, although the taste is pretty close to what mother made there is a greasyness afterwards.

As you say, the original stuf wasn't chewy but a little bit crumbly and MMMMMELLLTTTT IN THE MOUTH!

Haven't ever seen or tasted Native Black Walnut Ice Cream. Is it actually walnut flavoured or vanilla with walnut pieces?

I LOVE REAL PISTACHIO Ice cream but it has to be the proper Green colur with strong flavour MMMMMMMMMM. I must find some.

We will all be the size of King Kong by the end of this week.

Happy hunting and happy munching.

Roger
