Thanks for this timely and very informative post.
While I agree with you 100%, the Wall won't be enough. If they don't have a place to work, it might not stop them completely, but it sure will slow them down. Double the number of Immigration Inspectors and go after the Employers that give them work. Any employer that is found to have hired an Illegal Worker should be fined, at least $1,000 per day, per worker, for each day that they have worked, and the Illegals in each case should be deported immediately. On a second offense, the fine should be $5,000 per day, per worker, third offense, $10,000 per day, per worker, etc., until they either get smarter or go out of business. This should apply to ANY AND ALL types of employment, except Farming, since that is already heavily regulated by the Federal Government through the Migrant Worker Program.
As I said, this probably won't completely end the problem, but it should definitely put a large dent in it. When the Word hits the Wallet, it Shouts Loud and Clear.
