Howdy Monica,
Thanks for your reply. I commend you on your spirituality!
Although this is not the proper forum to debate religious beliefs, many people who do not know God have been misled and unknowingly support these wars and the troops on the basis of nationalistic pride. Those with the right heart disposition will be enlightened by my message. Of course, those who are not rightly disposed and are a part of the world, which the Bible counsels against, will reject my message and find fault with it.
Regarding "Defense" as you pointed out, no, it is not wrong to defend oneself when one is personally physically threatened. However, it is wrong and against God's laws to knowingly take up arms and go to a foreign country and kill people. There is no question that this violates God's law. Those people are not at your door physically threatening you. Those terrorists and groups of people who carry out their horrifying acts will be dealth with by God, just as His word promises. "Return evil for evil to no one. Vengeance is mine. I will repay."
As far as your statement that many pastors in different religions have their own interpretation of scriptures, you are exactly right, and this is exactly what Satan is counting on in his quest to mislead. That's exactly the reason there are tens of thousands of religions today and so many that claim to be Christian, when in the beginning when Jesus walked the earth, there was only one Christian religion. And Jesus himself even foretold this would happen. Satan is very clever, and each time throughout the ages some adopted slightly different beliefs and split off and formed their own religion, Satan was slyly leading them further and further from the truth.
You ask "who is to say whose interpretation is right?" I think you'll agree the Bible, God's word, is the definitive answer. But most people don't know what the Bible REALLY teaches, and blindly accept what they've been taught is the truth simply because that's what their parents and their parents before them accepted, never having actually studied the Bible. I know this firsthand, because I did the same thing for over 50 years! I accepted what my mother had accepted, not based on personal Bible study, but based on family tradition. However, the Bible itself says there is and can be ONLY one truth, and by definition the truth will oppose all others. Therefore, all religions cannot be right! Example, you most likely consider yourself a Christian, and yet, you know as a Christian that those religions who reject Jesus Christ as our redeemer are false.
Monica, I apologize if I came off as sounding rude in my post. That was not my intention at all. But I am glad that I stirred up some thoughts therefrom. People need to take these things much more seriously than the majority do, as we are living in the last days and learning the truth is a matter of life and death. For instance, you mentioned Judgement Day. Most people have been misled about what the Bible teaches on this subject also and do not understand the implications of this "day," when it will occur and that it will actually be 1,000 years long, during Jesus' Millenial Reign.
As I said at the beginning, this is not the proper forum to discuss these things, but if you wish to discuss these things further, you are welcome to personal message me, and, when I get the much needed time, I will try to respond.
Once again, have a good'un!
Terry
