A Comforting God ( A Prayer) 2 Cor. 1:3-11
5/16/2007 9:14:40 PM
Dear Father, great and gentle one,

Blessed are you, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. You are
the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.

You comfort us in our affliction, so that we may be able to
comfort others who are in affliction with the same comfort with
which we ourselves are comforted by you.

You enable us to know that as we share abundantly in Christ's
sufferings, so through Christ we shall share abundantly in comfort
too.

Thank you that our suffering is not meaningless, but is for the
comfort and salvation of others. Thank you for a hope that cannot
be shaken.

Jesus has taught to besiege you with constant prayer. Here we are
again, coming in his name. Amen.

Dear Thomas,

The comfort whereby, we are pleased with ourselves, hinder the ability of others to get comfort from us. The comfort that gives joy to others , is that which is meaningful to God and mankind.

I feel comfortable when the measure of God's comfort is so explicit to the point. Jesus was a great Master. He sought comfort to God on very difficult occasions. Before he raised Lazarus from the dead , he said ' Father I know that you always hear me.' then he continued  ' I say these words so, that they may know that you send me' Then he called Lazarus to come forth. He said this to the doubting unbelievers at that time.

His degree of comfort was full of Trust in God , Commitment to his ways  and humility in all things.

The joy that raised Christ to Eternity, lives and moves within us .As the scripture says ' We live and move and have our being in him' . Comfort each other with these words, knowing that you are not alone at anytime.

There is nothing that can be lost being with God, and seeking comfort from him all the time,  for,  ' One with God is a Majority' . Dear Brethren, may the Prayers and words of love from Thomas, and the spirit behind them, bring forth the Good fruits of life, that we may find constant comfort in them, through Jesus Christ our savior. Amen.
