Hi everyone!  I would love to hear any suggestions that you might have on welcoming a friend to my neighborhood.  She is originally from Romania but has been in the U.S. for two years.

Hi Laura,

When my wife and I moved in to our current neighborhood, no one came around.  However, the folks that we are, we made up some brownies (no one can resist brownies with pecans) and went to each house to introduce ourselves as the new neighbors.  We made some really good friends for that.

So, make up some brownies (or your favorite sugar cookie with a smiley face on it) and just drop by to say hello.  If you have time, look up an online translator and learn a phrase in her native language like, "Welcome to this neighborhood, I hope you find it a warm place to call home". 

Goodluck making a brand new friend and changing a life forever.  :)

I'm so sorry for seeng this just now!
Usually Romanian people are friendly and easy to get close to! SO, don't worry about how to greet them; just do what you feel to be better; they will be surprised as the most people coming home from "west" say, people there are not so comminicative as we are! May be they will be more noisy if they are from the south part of Romania; remember, beside being latins they are also kind of BAlcanics!

Wish you the best with your new neighbours and hope youre going to have some great time along them.
