Hi Pauline-I wrote this for my mom in 1991-she passed away in 1994 so I got it in under the wire!
To my Mother...
I never stopped to thank you
for all you've done for me
unselfishly giving, always doing
all so I could be free.
Never, ever asking for
anything in return,
it was enough it seems
for me just to learn.
Your love, your kindness, your example
made me who I am.
A strong woman, a good mother
these are but a sample.
I can't deny-I've made you cry
a mother's loving tears.
But life demands that I repay
and suffer my own fears.
Tears of love, tears of joy
and moments filled with pain.
All of which are needed to
reap the greatest gain.
We are mother-daughter
but we are sisters too.
Motherhood made it so
but out of love it grew.
We are mothers of all the children
the entire world around.
Because we've loved a mother's love
I know peace can be found...
