Thanks Jerilyn!
Tips for anyone who wants to lean to do wheelies on dirt bikes or 4 wheelers.
Wheelies take time to learn, and its easy to go over backwards.
Start small and work your way up.
Always wear proper safety gear.
Riding a dirt bike can be dangerous, even more so for beginners and inexperienced riders.
Learn to ride in a safe area.
Sandy area's...like abandoned sand pits....are great, as it doesn't hurt much if you fall off.
Progress to more challenging trails and terrain as you gain experience and skills.
Here in my province...Ontario...All riders are required to put a trail plate on off road vehicles used on public lands.
Also riders must carry proof of insurance, or face large fines if caught uninsured and ticketed by the authorities.
The exception for this, is if you ride on private property only you do not need a plate of insurance.
You will need a good helmet, gloves, motocross boots, goggles, kidney belt, and lots of energy!
Riding a dirt bike on rough terrain is very tiring and you get awesome exercise.
Here's why.....
Imagine jumping 40 feet on a 250 pound bike, and muscling it around a motocross track.
You got big hits when you land the jumps, you soak that up with the legs.
You got whoops, a series of rolling bumps about 1 to 3 feet high... you can try to skip over the tops, or jump 2or 3 at a time.
You got berms, big banked turns you can hit full throttle around.
Average person would last 1 lap and be exhausted.
Think about that next time you see any of the amazing people that race bikes every weekend, all over the world....
This happens "on any sunday!"
