I am glad you found my bio interesting. Polio fortunantely is no longer a problem in U.S. It is not a great way to start out in life, but many people had it much worse.  

Yes I love Alaska and have been fortunate enough to been there on 4 different occasions.  If you go there you should visit Anchorage it is a most interesting town with majestic mountains surrounding it.

Congratulations Leonard!! You have something in common with my hubby ~ he wants to go to Alaska too.  He is crazy about goldmining and wants to go there to do some panning and get some gold nuggets!!

Thank you for posting. This is special and I am enjoying it.
Your sister has moved to a very nice area which is just southeast of Anchorage I believe. We almost bought a home there. 
As far as the winters being horrible I think they are easier in many ways then our Michigan winters, because there the air is much drier and 10 degrees below just doesn't feel that cold. However they are long... there is no getting around that.lol
