Someone today keeps asking me how many people it takes to earn $10,000 monthly in a business? 
I'D SAY ONE...YOURSELF!!  That may or may not be the answer he would give BUT it's MY answer...
IF you can find low-cost products or services and multiply the price by 4 if the public is willing to pay, and they will if you offer them a "FREE 50% Dealership with order!"...and then those affiliates will sell for you at 50% commissions, then you pay 25% to the provider of the product or service and pocket the additional 25% for yourself.  If you can get 30 people to make 1 sale daily, that would be 900 sales monthly, and if you're selling a $44 product or service, you would earn $11 from each, that's $10,000 you didn't really have to work for at all!  It's not MLM, it's called looking for low-cost things to sell and writing up an advertisement once and giving it to your affiliates while you sit on your hiney and collect money.  But wait, you're thinking...wouldn't that take 30 people?  Well, first of all it takes one, YOU.  Remember, your intitial sales will bring you 75% when you first introduce the offer, and THEN after people purchase they become your 50% affiliates, then you'll only earn 25% from their sales but you won't need to work!  You can still do your own advertising and rake in 75% from your own sales.

Now you're waiting for me to sell you something today, right?  Nope!  Just that explanation of how to start your own affiliate program or as they say in mail-order..."commission dealership"...have a super-duper swell Sunday!!

Yes it does depend on whether you can get people to actually sign up for your offers and buy what you are promoting and selling.  If no one is willing to bite and buy what you are selling then this statement may not be completely true.  But as far as the example you gave I say true and I can go along with your answer totally.

How-to books are always great sellers, especially explaining to people how to do something they've never done before and making it easy, step by step.  Books are also low cost to reproduce in large quantities and sell at a big profit.

You can get booklets printed for 50 cents each or less, and sell for $10 or more if it's information that people think is very valuable.  You could even get affiliates to sell them at 100% commissions...something like "$10 plus $2 shipping" and they can keep the $10 and send you $2 (or more), that would cover your cost and you'd get the names of customers that you didn't have to work to get.
