Re: Spamming the forums is getting really bad ... and not by just one or two member.

Hi, Mary & Bj,

Thank you for making my point a little more understandable - although I really despair when I am told nobody can verbally spar with me. Does nobody have an opinion of their own that they are prepared and able to defend?

I like your idea of a list of things you like to do, Bj and, if it helps, here is a list of the three things I most like to do.

1 - Get up early in the morning and walk with my dogs for a couple of hours.

2 - Telephone friends and enter inro the 'discussion of the day' in a conference call where we can interact and share opinions. These calls often last an hour or more and are a great 'proving ground' for any opinions we might have formed from incomplete information.

3 - Hear from my extended family of their latest escapades.

A while ago I used to belong to a community called 'Profit Messaging'. This was very much like Adland and there was a great range of subjects under discussion with tremendous participation by over 30% of the membership.

Then the spammers took over - just like they seem to be doing here.

Profit Messaging is now nothing but a glorified traffic exchange where there are NO topics for discussion, where there is NO apparent concern among the members for each other and where the valiant attempts by the few who are trying to improve matters is all too little, all too late.

Kenneth's forum is a call to arms - but somebody seems to have stolen all the trumpets.

Spamming the forums is not going to accomplish anything. It only makes people mad, if they see you reply to a forum and put in your business op ad, they will definately not do business with you.

I think the best way is to talk to people, not about your opportunity but just build relationships with people. If you just come on here to advertise in every little place, people will tune you out. I have my marketing systems I use to get people to my siste, I don't have to resort to spamming.

I come in here to meet new people and see if there is a new marketing system or tool I can use to grow my business. If you want to get people to your website then try ezine ads, solo ads, calling systems or whatever it is that you use, dont use a forum to spam people, I personally hate it take care Mike

Yes I also are so fed up of spam, one of my blogs which is music software related is constantly targeted bya few spammers promoting sex related sites, some being blatant ads consisting of 4-5 links and others with typical universal text such as "I like your blog" , great blog, nice, excellent blog' and so on and so forth all with links to sex related websites.

World wars have been won and lost, but the war against spam probably will not ever be won so to speak, but it is nice to know that there are ways of controlling it on our own pc's so it doesn't take over our live's.
