More buzz is going around about our Personal Data and the Security of such data.
Apparently, the US Federal Trade Commission and other such respectable institutions are proposing more ways to prevent the stealing of personal data via identity theft and other fraudulent methods.
But the formidable wise men and women are saying institutions online and off-line need to take better care of our data. The "sloppy use" of our personal information is what really matters and needs more attention to correct.
While encrypt data is a good and current solution, strong federal or national laws are also required. An immediate credit freeze upon speedy notification of stolen documents would also help. All of these will certainly help. But some say Resturants, in particular, who are often associated with "40%" of credit cards theft, will need to do much better to protect their loyal customers. But the same apply to other institutions as well.
Let hope that the unfortunate person who has his/her wallet or purse stolen with valuable documents, or have their identity stolen will receive speedy and effective recovery and damage control assistance from their specific institution so they will not suffer at the mercy of the dishonest person.
Have a great day and the best of security to you
