Unfortunately, although some people on here are looking to build lasting friendships and want to take their time to introduce themselves, "Hi, how are you, how many kids do you have, oh, you have a business? Please tell me about it, how you can help me??"
Sales does not really work that way, in my opinion. The purpose of "Ad"landpro is to network and build business relationships. I don't think there is anything wrong with introducing your online business in an invite.
Now, here's where email becomes pushy. If somebody invites you to their site, and you are not interested in signing up, so you don't, but then you KEEP ON receiving emails EVERY DAY, DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY, cluttering up your inbox with demands of "Why didn't you sign up?" THAT is very pushy. That personifies real spam. Especially if there is not an opt-out message at the bottom. People who send those are breaking the law.
People are different. Different people communicate in different ways. That is a hard fact. Some prefer the softer approach, some PREFER a friendly hard sell. To tell you the truth, myself, just gets on my nerves when somebody pussyfoots around a topic and drags out a conversation pointlessly. I'm here to develop relationships with people who can help me acheive my goals, not everyone out there. I'm direct, some people don't like it, some people do. I'd personally rather be asked "Will you look or not?" Up front, in the first email. In an email, I don't think that's pushy. Easy enough to delete and move on if it does not suit your needs. In an email. you will not insult the person if you simply delete it. Not hard to do. And if you get really uptight about receiving an offer, well, maybe networking is the wrong business for you.
