Jenny, I was thinking back to the early 70's when I was going to school in Africa when this song came out. It was a big hit: "Seasons in the Sun" by Nirvana. Anyway, this song kindof struck home to me because one of my friends who I went to school with over there, died of a brain tumor when he was only 18. We used to do everything together, including fighting, but we were the best of friends. I went to visit him in Germany when I was on my way back home to the United States, and 6 months after I was there, he was dead.

I just had to come back and see so many here you have posted there favorites songs, how cool to read and to watch, watching that Nervana segment of them trying to play Seasons in the Sun takes me back when AM Radio was bigger than FM and the recording studios where i used to sleep in, after many nights of learning new songs. Yea Chris Novaselic (electric guitar in that segment) Dave Grohl (who played Bass in that song) and a very well missed Kirk Cobain ( on Drums). Many of us just as it was when John Lennon passed away and so many were at New Yorks Central Park, we were in Seatle's main Park back in 94. At that time i was a traveler and would travel to many venues with a particular band. Thanks for the memorys.

Hey Thomas, the late sixties and early 70s were definitely an era I will never forget. I was in Africa (Malawi) then, and I remember when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon in 1969. We didn't have television at the time, and my Dad had tuned in a radio station then known as the Republic of South Africa short wave radio and we listened to it there. The infamous statement "One Small Step for Man, One Giant Leap for Mankind" will be with me the rest of my days!

Those kind of nostalgic memories along with the Beetles, and Elvis, and a few others of course were basically our era, even though I was pretty young then.

I've got a 1960 VW Bus in my back yard in El Paso, Tx. that has a peace sign painted on the front of it, and it has yellow flowers on the side. Remember those days?

Wow James, that is one great memory, yes looking back i do remember as a young pup watching my grandmothers 13 inch black and white TV even though the world had color TVs we didnt for some reason my grandmother knew and lived through the depression when she was young, but i can rember watching Richard Nixon saying these words to the American public " I am Not A Crook" during his second term in 72, i also remember watching the last season of the Ed Sullivan show as well, i really didn't have any strict rules on my sleeping habits due to some family circumstances but i was watching a segment of Ed as he was reminissing of his times introducing the Beatls and Elvis.  Some have told me that i have a old mans heart as far as being born 10 years to late, Lol. Im always talking about my Hippies days when i would follow the Greatful Dead around for some 7-8 years in the 80s and early 90s. So a VW bus in your back yard and painted too, im very glad to meet your aquantance my friend, Lol. You did an awesome Job today James in getting us together like this. I applaude your efforts.
