Hello you old coot ....
Thank you for the welcome back and the woderful post. It's great to see you hear ... the last thing Jenny said to me at 2 am was .... Arthur has posted ... lets see what you reply to him hehehehehe
I mentioned in a post to Bill my feelings about the Secret ... I don't think it cheapens what is so sacred ... I belive that it was about commericialism, just like a million other books and videos and audios available on the market today. My philosophy is, also, so what? ... as long as it gets a clear message out that not everything can be explained by logical and empirical scientific studies and tangible proofs.
Steven Hawkins, and the likes, have explained to us in numerous books, for several years, that there is more than meets the eye but between reading an outstanding book by Steven Hawkins, which requires knowledge the "average" person does not have, (simply because we are not all quantum physicists), and watching the Secret, which explains concepts in simple terms, ... well ... the Secret gets the message out in a comprehensible to all format. I have to say that the audio book "The Secret" is far better than the video but still lacks somewhat.
Spirituality, I agree with you, is a very personal and sacred thing. It is up to each individual to find it from within, by whatever means they have at their disposal and from formulated opinions they conclude from literature they read, philosophies they follow and guidance they feel sits well with them. In other words, if it works for you, then there is no way it could be wrong.
The Law of attraction, synchronicity, the Law of abundance, The Tree of life, The Secret, Path with Life, Inner Knowing, Path beyond the Ego, the Dhammapada, the Bhagahvad Gida (Not sure I spelt that right!!)... and the million other books and videos I could quote all give an opportunity for someone to explore and find their own inner self through a means. None of them are rigid in facts and not all of them will work for everyone.
There is no right or wrong way to find what type of transpersonal discovery is best for one, or another person, and the transpersonal does not adhere to any one religion but embraces all beliefs because it looks at each individual as just that ... an individual.
The basic truth is that everything is a question of mental disposition and attitude.
Moreover the transpersonal embraces all facets of a human being such as: dream interpretation, (are they messages, signs or our inner being), EHE (Extraordinary Human Experiences - when one feels at one with the environment and universe and amazing things happen that could not be usually explained, or that are deemed as miracles), Creativity (Art, writing, music are all forms of expressing the transpersonal world in a very personal way).
The transpersonal is everything that goes beyond, through, within and without an individual that feels right for the individual.
Take care and best wishes
V.
