I am sorry to hear that you are doging bullets!

Many moons ago I was a deacon in our church and members would come to me and say we really need to pray for (so & so), and I would ask them just what we needed to pray for.

Their answer may be "Well they are really doing some bad things and we need to pray for them".

I would ask them to be more specific and finally they would tell me.  I would then ask if they had seen them commit the act personally and most often their reply would be, "Well no, but so & so told me about it".

I would then make the suggestion that we go to the individual and confront them in person to see what they had to say about it.

When confronted with this idea, they would walk away.

You see a loose toungs are worse than a ship without a rudder, and your confronting people is the correct thing to do.

I like to tell people this, "If God aproves of me and my actions why should I worry about what anyone else thinks or can say about me".

Sorry to hear about the bad mouthing - unfortunately what happens in the world is those who rise above the croud are noticed - and thus they become targets. Trick is to NOT take things personal - to learn from comments both true and false.

When you want to pick the fruit though - you have to go out on a limb. :-)
