If you are about to get into the planting of trees, shrubs, flowers, plants or garden, please visit the Green Wiz to get in on the secrets.  You never know how simple something can be until someone tells you how.  Come check it out before Arbor day so we can all plant trees the right way.  Help make the world a greener place.  It's simple!

May the seeds you plant today forever beautify your world.

 Walking Garbage CanHi Nicholas,

This is so true, and now we live in am Asphalt Jungle.  I could say a lot on this subject because I have always felt, as you do, that trees do have a mind of their own.  Rather than ramble on, I would like to submit one of my poems that I don't believe I have entered into any forums as yet, mainly because there were no calls for it until now.  Hopefully you and your readers will enjoy it.  It has been published in an Anthology quite awhile back.

                       Telltale Signs of Winter

Woodland creatures scurry to and fro

Chipmunks chatter, Blackbirds Crow and Caw

Leaves are turning Crimson Red, Brown and Gold

True signs of Winters' oncoming Bitter Cold.

Dewdrops Suspended on the moss as Frozen Crystal Flakes

Frost begins to lace the ponds and nearby shallow lakes

Cold, Crisp winds begin to blow bringing with them the Mallards and the Drakes

Beauty Adorns this Special Scene like the icing on a cake.

Tall trees stand Stark Naked, stripped of all their leaves

Sugar Maples patched with globs of snow before the Winters' Freeze

Random leaves float gently down on a Cool, Crisp Autumn Breeze

Swirling leaves are Swept away as they clutch upon the trees.

No other season quite like this, with the lofe that does abound

Like busy squirrels gathering nuts in the trees and on the ground

Dappled leaves swirling in the wind, pile up in scattered mounds

Far off sounds of Northern Geese as they honk their Mating sound.

Brisk Breezes blowing in this Autumn Wind

Woodland creatures making haste to Burrow once again

The Foliage turns Brilliant Hues of Oastel colored Lace

Ducks and Geese taking Refuge in this, their familiar Stopping Place.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your poem. I could feel the chill in the air and all the activity getting ready for winter.

You are the second one to suggest the Greenwiz link I will check it out.
