This is one thing that once you learn it, you'll never want to do without it. It takes some practice but it's a snap (or a click) and it will make your mouse do a much better job. Instead of using the left mouse button on everything, use the right one and you'll see what I mean. You can right click a link and it will give you options to bookmark the link, or save as, or open in a new window...etc...
If you don't want to leave the page you're on, just right click and open it in a new window and you won't lose your work.
Save your bookmarks fast by right clicking and bookmarking the links you want to keep up with.
Remember to use right click often, it's a lot more mouse for your money;)
