There is deeper thought in this quote.

“You can’t win unless you learn how to lose.”

What this really means is that nobody can be a winer before they realize what it takes to win the game. In order to win the game they have to lose many games first and only if they are able to accept loses they can get tough enough (practice and learn) to face the greatest opponents and defeat them.

The biggest opponents of all of them in any game is ourselves. It is the hardest to beat because it is so close . The reason most people lose battle with themselves is that they believe that somebody else is responsible for their own problems. They even are not accepting the fact of defeat because they believe that circumstances are what causes them to lose. In short learning how to lose is being able to see your own weakness and accept it. Once you accept it that there is nobody to blame you are realizing that it is up to you to change the circumstances.
