ORGANIZING YOUR PICTURES
If you are serious about Decoupage you are going to need allot of pictures. I save them all. Old calenders, picture books, "real" Decoupage Prints, you name it, I save it.
It is all well and good to have allot of pictures, but if you cannot find the ones you want when you need them it can be very frustrating and wastes allot of time. So you must keep them organized.
Sort them into categories. Fish, Underwater, Boats, Animals, Cats, Dogs, Houses etc.
File them away in zip lock bags properly labeled, or keep them in plastic filing pockets in a arch lever file. Any way you choose to organize them is fine, as long as you know where to find that "rose" you liked so much, or the picture will the bell on it.
Some prints are good for backgrounds when doing Mille Fleurs Decoupage. Mille Fleurs Decoupage is when the entire surface area of the object is covered with pictures intertwined and overlapping each other to form a collage of colours and designs. (more about that in a later chapter).
As you collect pictures, you can cut them at your leisure and file them away ready for creating works of art. When you have enough of a particular theme all cut and ready to complete the object you want to use them on you can start planning your design ...
