The article about getting out there and involving yourself in a variety of social activities is very true.  The more you get yourself known by other people and talk about what you do will inprove your business tremendously!  Every time you are three feet from someone hand out a business card.  Talk to a lot of people you meet and get in a conversation with them.  You will be surprised how many times you handed a business card out.  People love to talk and get involved.
