The moment we want to believe something....

"The moment we want to believe something, we suddenly see all the arguments for it, and become blind to the arguments against it."

- George Bernard Shaw.

Hi Bogdan,

Our minds like to justify what we want.  We will keep thinking about it in many different ways until all arguments against our wish have been turned to the way we want it to be, at least in our own thoughts anyway.  The human mind is easily twisted to justify what it wants in every aspect.

This is SO true. The truth is that BELIEVING is SEEING!!!

If we do not "see" could it be because we do not believe?

Hi Bogdan,

Thanks for the Quote.  How appropriate on St.Patricks Day Eve to have a quote from this wonderfully irrascible man from Dublin.

Another of my favorites from Shaw:

"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing."
George Bernard Shaw

Happy St. Patrick's Day,

Phil

“There may be trouble all around, but I am calling you to a place of peace. Be still and know that I am God. Come to Me, and I will give you wisdom, strength, and grace for everything you face." Psalm 46:10
