There's a serious-sounding malady called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD for short, how appropriate!) that affects some people in winter. The shorter days and lack of sunlight make some people depressed, irritable, and craving carbohydrates.
It's widespread enough to have an official medical diagnosis, so if during these cold, short days you find yourself snapping at your coworkers and scarfing down doughnuts, you're not alone.
I don't think I'm clinically sad (or rather, SAD), but I do get a little blue when the holiday decorations come down and the only thing on the horizon is more cold, gloomy days. So I thought I'd ask in the blog topic of the day: What do you do to beat the midwinter blahs?
Smiling is infectious!!!!!
