Hello Luella and John,

Wangari Maathai, is a wonderful choice for this weeks woman of courage.  I very much enjoyed reading about her accomplishments.

Not only did she give encouragement to make a
difference to other women in their respective lives
around her country by planting these trees, she also
made such a huge difference to the landscape because
we know that trees are the biggest source of oxygen
which animals and humans need to sustain life and
much needed shade, branches for nesting animals,
birds etc.

Africa is such a
desolate place in many areas and
growing these trees is such a positive step in the
right direction.

Kind regards
Amanda

Hello Amanda!

We could all learn a lesson from Dr. Wangari.  We can learn by her example in taking the initiative to plant trees and loving our planet.

Hugs!
