I thoroughly enjoyed reading Helen Kellers more indepth background. She surely was and is a great inspiration from a person growing up in the 'good ole days' blind and deaf and still achieve and grasp the great wonders of site and hearing through devoted teachers who were able to bridge that gap and teach her. The rest was from her wonderful inner strength and more privileged life that she could go onto higher learning through college education. So many people before and after have missed this opportunity either from being too poor to receive one on one teaching like this or got lost in the cracks because of too many children in the class for one teacher and these with impairments of hearing, sight, dislexia etc problems have not received the assistance or notice they needed to develop their skills.
