Re: ART AND CRAFTS - WAYS TO ADVERTISE AND SELL YOUR WORK

Hi Jenny,

Great idea for a forum.  This idea will not apply to every type of art, but you can actually sell your pictures as stock images.  I am an online art student and quite often we have to find a stock image for our projects and I have noticed that many of the companies we go through will allow anyone to submit a photo, painting, drawing or anything 2-D.  If someone, such as an art student or ad agency chooses your picture, you profit.  Who knows, you could see your artwork on the next Gateway Computer ad.

I don't have any links handy to add to this reply, but if anyone is interested, you can simply google "stock images" and numerous companies will appear.  If you would like to e-mail me, I will get the links for you from my school.

Best of luck to all of you.  There are some great suggestions in here.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for the wonderful contributions to this forum - it is filling with some very valuable information for all of us who sell and advertise arts and crafts work.  Thanks to everyone's community spirit - it is a real reference book!

Well we have yet another place where we can show our work and meet other artists and craftsmen.

The new Apsense Community also has a group for us "The Artists and Artisans Place" - you can post blogs on it too.

I am enjoying it - someone set up a blog on their own site of my work - without me asking - just because she liked it and thought it worth writing an article about!!

You can join for free and there are still a few free VIP membersjhips available too (the first 5000 members to sign up get a free year)

Take Care
Love

Hello Everyone!

I've been away for a bit, so just catching up on my favorite forums. I really like the artfanatix website. Thinking of joining.

I'd like a recommendation on accounting software. Right now I'm using Microsoft Office Accounting (the free version). It's not bad, but having trouble reconciling payments to invoices. Maybe it's me---not accounting inclined. LOL

Hi there Rosalind

Ok Guys,

We need an accounting programme for artisans - nothing tricky - just to reconcile those invoices with payments!  Something easy please!

Great to see you  - hope the jewellry is doing well. Lets see what we can find.  There are meant to be numerate people in this Community,

Love
Jenny
