Dave, It has no thing to do with viewing the video. It has to do with naming it in such a way as to cause misunderstanding which would not have occured had one, of many other, more accurate names been used. As you well know, MOST people who disagee with something never say anything about their disagreement. So we know at least two people who read this forum disagee with the name as is and there could be others. All avoided if the video had a different title.

David, I had a discussion with a co-worker about your forum. Here is what she revealed to me. The study may not be accurate. If the recent study was done in a predominate black community where children only saw and experienced their own race they may have in their young minds determined inaccurate conclusion. Who was arrested yesterday in my building---a black man= bad man. Whose picture was on the front page of the newspaper-blackman in striped jail suit. A black man=bad man My mother says to stay away from so-and-so- he is a bad man. She has pointed out that if the same study were done in other communities, say a suburb where black and white are mixed peacefully with docotors, lawyers and other professional families, this study could look quite different. Desegregation has changed children's view of races. Pre-schools have set a good example and children can carry on early relationships right through school. I was reminded of how far we have come when it was mentioned at President Fords funeral. He was to play football with a team that had a black star player. Ford refused to play as his coach had given in to the agreement that a black man could not participate. Those were the days of segregation. I conclude that the study is not valid. This was a sample testing. The person doing the test needs to prove how many social levels were tested. Neil, We may not agree with David's Title but that is his choice. I too hear at times that my title is not correct. Does it matter? The content is more important. Let's not major on the minor. Thanks for a good forum post, David

Hello Dave,

I had previously thought that things had changed in the past 50 years but after watching the video - with little children sho dont know how to lie yet - I feel quite despondant.

Yes the "treatment" of non-white races has improved.  It couldn't have got worse could it?  But it doesn't seem that much has changed if people's feeling haven't changed much - Treatment is only about "the forms" not about the heart.

I believe and say to you all - We are what we are because of an accident of Birth.  It is positive to be proud of what you are and fundamental to respect others for being what they are.  Pride in being yourself is not the same as nationalism or patriotism or racial superiority - that implies a superiority that is only in the mind of the beholder - and that does not exist.

Saludos
Jenny
