You may decide on a Network Marketing organization for several key
reasons. First, The cost of getting started is very reasonable, even
inexpensive, compared to a franchise or a home-based business where you
are required to purchase a great deal of product. These days, many mlm
opportunities don't require you to purchase product up front as it is
often drop-shipped directly to your customer within days of an order.
Most Network Marketing firms are actually formed with the Home Business
entrepreneur in mind. Thus the starter package, training and other
support are geared toward the Home Business entrepreneur making success
much more probable.
Whatever your reasons for wanting to make an mlm firm the vehicle
for your Home-Based Business success, you will want to get started on
building a large downline community or 'organization' of sales
distributors of your own, also called building a sales team or a sales
force. Although you can earn substantial commissions by focusing
exclusively on product sales, you will nonetheless want to build a
downline community if you really wish to leverage your Home Business
and eventually become a truly large outfit. Usually in mlm
opportunities you can build a nice income from a residual base of
customers, meaning customers who go on autoship and have orders sent to
them on an automatic basis each month or some other time interval. You
will want to teach the members of your organization how to do this as
well so they will have a similar foundation with this "recurring
database" of customers.
Needless to say you will receive a portion of their sales via
commission, maybe ten or fifteen percent, depending on the specific
company.
There are several ideas regarding how many downline members forms
an adequate "frontline" but a good number to shoot for is ten to
fifteen reliable individuals in the first line of your organization.
The key to building your downline is to essentially duplicate yourself
and this requires training. You want to have a process that your
downline member can copy to achieve the same results as you. While they
probably received instructions in their starter kit explaining how to
achieve this, it is in your own best interest to further train and help
them with the proper mindset and knowledge required. In other words,
you need to mentor and teach them until they are self sufficient.
After you recruit a person into your community or team, the first
90 days or so are probably the most critical. Thus you will wish to
give each recruit as much time as practical in the beginning. As their
sponsor, they will be leaning on you for support, and the best way to
guide him or her is by your own example. If you are seen as highly
motivated and excited about the program this will rub off on the
recruit and they will tend react in a similar fashion. One way to
assist your team is to send out a newsletter that has tutorials or tips
they can use to increase their chances for success. Make sure they read
the necessary sales literature and listen in on pertinent conference
calls.
