Living Life In The Divine Flow
1/22/2007 12:24:16 AM

Hello friends,

One of my dear friends, Steven Lane Taylor, author of Row, Row, Row Your Boat: Living Life In The Divine Flow, sent me this little story of how living life in the Divine flow manifested itself again for him recently. I have Steven's book on my coffee table and it is a fabulous little book. You can get it here: http://RowRowRow.com

Here's Steven's latest flow story... (Carol is his girlfriend.)

Dear Friends,

It has been a while since I have shared a “flow story” with you. Well, here is one that Carol and I experienced last weekend.

A number of weeks ago, two women from Massachusetts, Beth and Cindi, were divinely guided (a story in itself) to attend an all-day event that would take place here in Sedona on January 13th.

Before leaving home, they were talking to another friend of theirs, and they shared an experience with her that involved the song, “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.” Well, this third person, Pat, just happens to be an old friend of mine, and she informed Beth and Cindi that I had written a book with that title, and that I now live in Sedona.

Feeling additionally guided by this coincidence, Beth and Cindi decided they wanted to meet me while they were here. Pat put the three of us in touch, and I sent them a note about how we could meet.

The plan was simple: Carol and I were going to be attending the very last part of the same event that Beth and Cindi were going to, so all they had to do was look for us when they came back from their dinner break. To make that possible, I sent them my picture.
When Carol and I got to the auditorium, we discovered that we had arrived early and, out of 250 seats, we had our choice of any two seats in the house. We carefully chose two particular seats, and patiently waited for Beth and Cindi to come up and introduce themselves.

About five minutes before the event was to resume—with the auditorium now completely full—two women finally approached me and asked, “Are you Steve?” It was Beth and Cindi. I said hello, and then I asked them if they had any trouble spotting me from my picture.

Their amazing response was, “We didn’t have a chance to look at your picture.”

Puzzled, I asked, “Then how did you find me?” Beth and Cindi replied, “You and Carol happen to be sitting in the same two seats that we have been sitting in all day long. We just had 'a feeling' that it might be you.”

Wow! Out of 250 places to sit in that auditorium, Carol and I had chosen the exact two

seats that Beth and Cindi had previously occupied!

The next day we spent the entire afternoon with Beth and Cindi. Suffice it to say that we all had remarkable gifts of healing and insight to share with each other, and it was a extremely meaningful experience.

If there is a “moral” to this story, it is this: Every decision that you make in life—no matter how small—can either enhance or restrict your ability to live life in the divine flow. So choose with sensitivity. Every little feeling that you have in life—no matter how illogical—can be an important guidepost for you. So pay attention to that.

Carol and I didn’t just haphazardly choose our seats. We walked among dozens of seats and sat where we “felt” the most comfortable. And Beth and Cindi had absolutely no reason to think that the people sitting in their former seats were Carol and I, but they honored their intuitive guidance and acted on it anyway.

Here are four people out of 250 that had the intent to meet, and the universe brought us all together flawlessly. But it only happened because Beth, Cindi, Carol, and I cooperated with that subtle orchestration.

It makes me wonder just how effortless life would really be if we were always that sensitive to “the flow.” Pretty darn effortless, I think!

Steve

Linda,

Wow!  However it doesn't surprise me, because I believe.

When my wife and I were in our first  (of 24) year of marriage, things were not quite as financially wonderful as our togetherness was.  We were living in a ski resort town and it was the off season.  We both did whatever we could find just to keep rent and utilities going.  We were so happy, but found ourselves to be a bit hungry.  We always say our prayers and thank God for what ever He provides.

The thrid evening without so much as a bisquet and delicious mountain stream water, we were standing out on our deck over looking the magnificant valley that we had the pleasure of living in.  Oh so beautiful!  We had just had a discussion that we might have to leave this grandeur valley in order to make ends meet before we walked out onto the deck into the evening mist.  All of a sudden, the sound of an old truck interrupted our private tribute to being in love.

It was an old neighbor who we had not seen for weeks.  He yelled up at us from his truck, "I had great luck fishing today and have more than I need.  Want some fish?"  What a blessing he was for us.

Later on, I realized that we were hungry and had faith that God would take care of us.  He did and still does today.

You ask me if I am living in the Divine Flow?  There are no doubts in my heart.
