Walt Whitman is quoted as saying, "To me, every hour of the day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle."
Do you often give this answer to a child; "Not now I'm busy"? How about "actions speak louder than words"? Virtually every child absorbs what adults do more than what they say. L.O.V.E. to a trusting child is spelled T.I.M.E. Often we adults wonder why children may not respect us. Do we stop and think about how much time we are investing in them?

We wear watches, our cellular phones have clocks on them, our
computer has the time constantly on the screen and nearly every room in the house has a clock. There is probably more than one calendar in the house or office as well.

Check out Matthew 6:33 and decide what is important in your life. Time is a fleeting thing. How we use it is of utmost importance. It could mean the future of a child, a spouse, friend or even a stranger who needs someone to take notice. By the way, adult "children" will not outgrow the need for our time.

"Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom," Psalm 90:12. Good instruction when you consider this; "Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are {just} a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away," James 4:14.

Some things that we think can't wait, CAN WAIT! A missed influential moment cannot be regained.

Take T.I.M.E. to think about it!

"Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me."
2 Kings 2:9

What is your legacy? What do you leave behind? Do your loved ones look forward to the things they will inherit? Or do they aspire to follow your example?

There is a story in scripture about a great prophet named Elijah, who granted his apprentice a request before he was taken up to God. The apprentice was so inspired by knowing Elijah that he asked for a double portion of Elijah's amazing spirit.

Similarly, the most meaningful thing you can leave for the next generation is your example of love and dedication to God.

Is that how you are living? Will others want a double portion of your spirit?

"These are things we learned from our ancestors, and we will tell them to the next generation. We won't keep secret the glorious deeds and the mighty miracles of the Lord."
Psalm 78: 3 - 4

The following article was borrowed from a great man. Michael sends me regular inspiration and encouragement.

"A kind smile, a friendly gesture and a welcomed handshake are all considered
seeds. If we sow them, we will have a good return. Sow love and you will get
love back; sow kindness and kindness will come back to you.

The Bible says in Luke 6:38, "Give and it will be given you. A good measure,
pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into you lap.
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you!"

A lot depends on our attitude. When we give off even nonverbal communication,
we can get back either verbal or nonverbal responses. People can tell by your
attitude whether you are angry or happy. People can tell when you are at peace
with yourself or troubled about what is going on in your life. How much better it is
to have peace with God by letting Him do His job. We will be happy knowing He
is in control.

Give good signals of how that has settled things for you and you will get good
return signals everytime." Michael Morton, Gastonia, NC

Have a great day!

Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength; we will sing and praise
your might.
-- Psalm 21:13
What is our role in the grand scheme of things? In Psalm 21, the
Spirit emphasizes our importance as God's "cheerleaders." We ask
God to reveal himself in glory. We urge God to make his strength
known to all people. We marvel in amazement at his great deeds. We
praise God for all the incredible things he has done for us.
Dear Father in heaven, exalt yourself and your name above all
things. I rededicate myself to daily praise and thanksgiving for
all that you have done, all that you are doing, and all that you
will do in the future. To you, the only true God, the Alpha and
Omega, I offer my heartfelt praise and my songs of joy. In the name
of the Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Just a thought and Prayer for you guys. Thanks! God_bless you. Thomas

Today is one of those dreaded days! My loving Debbie (I'll get even) made both of us appointments for a physical. Ugh! Therefore my morning has produced very little in the spiritual realm where I would rather spend most of my time. Seeing the Doctor was not enough, he sent her to Skyline Medical Center for blood work. My blood work was done in his office (go figure). I still ended up at Skyline for chest x-rays. Prescriptions to fill and then finally home to eat something. We were told not to eat prior to the physicals.

When looking for PEACE, these environments are not where I choose to look. My "friend" Tom Moore tells a story about peace that I hope you will enjoy.

There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would Paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them. One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace. The other picture had mountains too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell and in which lightening played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the King looked, he saw beh ind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother
bird on her nest... perfect peace.

Which picture do you think won the prize?

The King chose the second picture.

Do you know why?

“Because,” explained the King, “peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace.”

“In nothing be
anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6-7). Remember, Paul was in prison when he wrote these words !

Think About It!

Have a peaceful day!
