Re: NO TRUER WORDS (NICK)

Thank you, Nick.  Paul Harvey has 'been there' and I am proud to have been also.  Mary says she has been to the school of Hard Knocks, I feel I am an honored graduate of the College of Hard Knocks.  It has become so evident to me only recently that small children are NOT being taught any kind of values of life.  What I saw in the past two weeks was so many children and expected children by unwed parents and being exposed to really bad aspects of life.  I am really concerned for the generation being formed now.  Also, it is good to protect a child but over-protection does not prepare them for what might come.

Thank God my parents taught me the good basics of life and raised me in a good Christian home.

If it is true that nice guys finish last, you must have a truly dreadful position.

Isn't it a strange dichotomy, especially with raising children. My conscious mind says I want to raise my 6 yr old Baby Girl in a sheltered Eden.

But in my heart, I know if I raise her in Brooklyn, she will grow up tough as nails, and will eat the mid-westwern children alive... so what is the right choice?

Easy to ponder from an intellectual point of view, but whrn it is the focal point of your life........

Thanks Nick,

I feel like life now for our children/grandchildren  is a buffet restaurant, where they pick and choose, partake of some and throw a lot away. They don't go hungry and when finished they still want more.

Our next generation does not know how to want and are not willling to wait for anything.  The credit  card means you can have anything  RIGHT now.  No need to save up for anything.  You want it, go get it now and use a little of it and then throw it away.  There is always more to want.

I remember hand-me-downs, shoes with soles flapping, riding my brothers bicycle (didn't have one of my own), but there was always lots of mom, dad, and brothers and sisters to go around.
