Strangers and Friends

We passed on the crossroads of time
Exchanged glances
I saw the pain in your eyes
You won't remember me
In life's busy knarled path.

I said a prayer for you today
I know you as if we met before
Along life's corridor
Strangers and friends.

How could you know
Choosing the expression on your face
Thinking of the things that lie before you.
We may never pass this way again.

Your smile had my attention
Just for a moment
A fleeting glimse of days gone by
Then you walked away.

Walk on and be content with what you know
There are people along the way
That wish you well without your knowing
The love in thier hearts.

So there was a meeting of two souls
By chance in another life
We knew each other before
Strangers and friends.
