Hi Marion,
I'm a newbie here & this is my 1st post here. This is a fantastic story & it reminds me of a very simple & basic rule I try to live by (although I must admit that on occassion I do catch myself slipping). You can't judge a book by it's cover.
I grew up nest door to a family with a son who was "mongolian". Till this day I'm still not sure what exactly a mongolian is (it's medical definition),but it really does'nt matter. What does matter is that I learned at a young age, what I consider to be the 1st & most important rule in life.
Myself, at the age of 10, developed a condition that was finally diagnosed at the age of about 30, called Tourettes Syndrome. A mild case, but very noticable.
Without going on & on, i'd just like to say Thank You for these stories. I don't know if my wife would be so grateful, right now, as she's sleeping & I'm out here with tears in my eyes & sniffling. Thankfully, she understands my emotional feelings when it comes to certain subjects.
I've truly been blessed, as my wife has told me many times that on May 4th, 2005, she prayed that God will know when she's ready to be in another relationship & she'll leave it in his hands & stop worrying when & if she'll ever meet that special man. On May 5th, 2005, I met the most wonderful, sweet, unique & beautiful lady I have ever ,or could ever have met. We've been, as she states, "glued to the hips" ever since. I have since, had a renewed faith in God & miracles, as so many things have happened, since we met, that had we not had each other, these "circumstaces" (for lack of a better word) would have been so much more stressful, if not unbearable.
God definitely placed her in that nightclub, where she'd never even heard of until May 5th( I was there only because I had the night off). I was just getting ready to leave, when I saw her walk by & lean against a wall, facing the dance floor, I thought to myself ,there she is, you've been hoping & praying you'd meet someone like her, so get over there & ask her to dance & don't say anything stupid! The rest, is Bliss-tory.
I don't get to tell this happy story, very often, therefore, I thank you Marion, & anyone else who took the time to read this. I am sorry to have made this such a long reply, but since we basically don't have any family, I wanted to share my story of what I am grateful for, this & every day, as well as Thanksgiving.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!
John
