Sammy, thank you for sharing your thoughts before thanksgiving this year. I hate to admit it, but most of us do not realize how fortunate we are that we live in the freedom this great land provides. They say the best way to recognize what we have, is to go to a third world country, stay there for a while, and then come back. Then one knows.

Marisol, thank you for sharing the graphic you provided in your link above, and for sharing the words of wisdom from the bible!  May this Thanksgiving be the best one ever, especially since we can be thankful for what Jesus did for us!

A PRAYER OF THANKS

Oh, God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work, help me
to remember the jobless;
When I have a warm home,
help me to remember the homeless;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer;
And remembering, help me
to destroy my complacency
and bestir my compassion.
Make me concerned enough
to help, by work and deed,
those who cry out
for what we take for granted.

This is my Thanksgiving Prayer

I'm thankful for life,

I'm thankful for health,

I'm thankful for family,

I'm thankful for friends,

but most of all,

I'm thankful for the Sacrifice

Christ made for me on Calvary.

Grant me the wisdom God,

to discern the difference

between right and wrong,

to share Your love

with those I know,

and with those I don't,

and may Your will be done

in my life not only now,

but into eternity, Amen

Hi James, Happy Thanksgiving Day!

I was here the other day, but decided to not comment until this day as we celebrate our Thanksgiving. Its a wonderful sermon by Ellen G. White. Sermons such as this are rarely heard anymore. This was well worth reading over again today for me.

My Favorite part...

Suppose we change this order of things, and begin from today to train the thoughts to dwell upon the great plan of salvation, devoting less time to self-serving. Suppose you try to count all your blessings. You have thought so little upon them, and they have been so continual, that when reverses or afflictions come, you are grieved, and think God is unjust. You do not call to mind how little gratitude you have manifested for all the blessings of God. You have not deserved them; but because they have flowed in upon you day by day, year by year, you have looked upon them as a matter of course, thinking it was your right to receive every advantage, and
give nothing in return.

Thank you James. We are Truly Blessed everyday.
