I remember doing that Nick, especially #8.  That only worked until each one of my children reached the age of 7 and by then they figured it out and just gave me a strange look.

  You mean my face really won't freeze if I make funny faces? LOL

   I think most of us have told our children some of these things. It's what makes them grow up normal. And then they do it with their children.

Deborah, so many stories, so little time, what am I to do - LOL

Nick, # 1 is the only one I ever heard. However, we do tell children to eat all their food as "Children in China are starving". As if eating all our food keeps others from starving???? Then we have little ditties like "step on a crack, break your mothers back". My brother had his thumb amputated after an electrical accident. His favorite is to tell children, "Don't suck your thumb.....see what happens if you do?"
