Hi Pauline, Thanks for sharing such a lovely tribute to parents. My mom and especially my dad were really strict and sometimes even very harsh by today's standards - I could definitely say I feared my dad as I was growing up. He was ex-army, having served in the front lines in Korea, and I was his new recruit... However, I always knew my parents both loved me, and they are not just parents, today, but very good friends, too. While their methods would perhaps seem somewhat barbaric to modern, "enlightened" parents, the lessons they taught me, because they loved me, have given me a very sound foundation for my life. I have never lost a job, have never been unemployed for more than a few days, when I decided to do something different, have a wonderful marriage, great kids, and a comfortable lifestyle. Thank God for my parents and the tough, but right choices they made when they were raising me! They have given me a great life. I hope I have raised my children close to as well as they raised theirs. God bless, Dave
