This is a wonderful topic Marilyn.  You have attracted two others (Valerie & Manuel) who have added some very valid points.

I too think failure is just one more attempt on the way to getting it right.  The many attempts require persistence and determination, and that it what is lacking in the many who give up.

I do agree we need to use care with the words that get used as labels, as some can be very damaging to those with an already low level of self esteem.
