Hello Nick

Thank you for the invitation ... I actually had read this before ...

I can recommend rice milk as a substitute to soya milk for those who are worried ... (which is what I use) ...

Beans and other pulses provide the same quality of protein ... (and a small proportion of carbohydrates) ...

Take care and best wishes

Hello, Nick!

I am always wary of anything that's touted as a "cure all", if there was truly such a thing we'd all be healthy and live to a ripe old age with our mental faculties intact.

As far as the menopause thing, soy is not proven to be beneficial in alleviating the symptoms (I've experienced them all and don't like it one bit).  My doctor says eating tofu or soy in its natural form will do no harm, but the supplements might.

I'm not really into soy anyway since I don't like the taste of the beans or the texture of tofu.

Black Cohosh does seem to help with my more bothersome symptoms and has been used for hundreds of years by women as an herbal remedy.  My own research does substantiate that it will do no harm, though as a tea I need a lot of peppermint to get it down.  The capsules aren't so bad.

Thanks for the warning, as anything that is too good to be true usually is.

Kate
