Good Morning Lois,

Here's a scripture that I was praying this morning with regards to speaking in Tongues:Act 2:4 And 2532 they were 4130 0 all 537 filled 4130 with the Holy 40 Ghost 4151, and 2532 began 756 to speak with 2980 other 2087 tongues 1100, as 2531 the Spirit 4151 gave 1325 them 846 utterance 669 .  It spoke powerfully to me today.

Amen Melissa!

For those of you who may not know what the blue numbers are on Melissa's post they are what are called the Strong's numbers from Strong's Greek and Hebrew dictionary.

The scripture she is quoting here is of course the first out pouring of the baptism of the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost, in Jerusalem; held in the upper room where 120 of Jesus' disciples had been waiting for this promise since Jesus had ascended to heaven.

Just before Jesus’ ascension he had spoken these words to his disciples.

Acts 1:2-9

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

(KJV)

The scripture in Acts 2 is the fulfilling of this powerful promise.

Thanks be unto God for this powerful gift of the Holy Ghost!
