Did I Offend Someone?
10/10/2006 8:01:31 PM

Seems like maybe a few people were bothered by my invite to this forum. Maybe they took the wording just a wee bit personal.

Honestly, the comments weren't directed at anyone in particular and I do believe that I may have been guilty of similar things.

We're adults so lets be honest shall we. You join an online community like Adland or DM, many here are members there as well. You get 50 messages saying "Let's be friends", and then you open them.

Now you see, "Hi, be me friend and look at my mebsite,  or check out my bizop, or join my downline. Maybe 2 of them will say "Hi, welcome to the community. Let me know if you need anything."

Most of the people joining already have a program, bizop, or downline of their own. What will they do with another one? If they were told this is a nice place to meet people and maybe learn or get help, what will they think?

I'm not saying that no one should ever send anyone else a link, just let them breathe a little, take in the surroundings, and attempt to get settled. If you walked into a store and every clerk ran up to you saying, "Try this one, look at mine, don't you think mine is worth it, let me show what you need, let me tell you what will work for you, do you have one this good, have you tried this color? How long would you stay?

You don't have to agree with me, the proof has been put out there for me to see.

I am pleased to meet you and hope we can become good friends. I have accepted you simply becuase amongst the 50 or so invites I have had since just 4 days ago when I joined up, you did not invite me with pushy mlm sales and marketing in your email. I am not one for mlms at all.

If this is what people are saying, shouldn't we try to honor it? If not, what are we doing here? Part of being friend is treating people how they want to be treated, not just however you feel.

For this reason, if you can live with "People first", join  this forum and lets move on.
