Geketa, I like this one! So many of us have the tendency to open our mouths and insert the foot syndrome. It's especially easy to say something you don't mean when you get upset with someone.

There are 160 references made in the bible about the tongue.

Paul speaks of the tongue being used as tool of deceit in Roms. 3:13

James3 : 5,6  Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.See how great a forest a little fire kindles!And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

Our tongue can be our best friend or our own worse enemy.

My favorite verse about the tongue is  James 1:26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.

This is why we really should as my dear gram used to say to me .. load your brain before you shoot off your mouth.

Deuteronomy 28:13

And the LORD shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath; if that you hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day, to observe and do them.
