Hello Nick
I ahve been trying to get to this forum for days and days ... but somehow something always cropped up and kept me at bay ... but here I am with my two pennies worth hehehehe ....
The literature of ancient Greece and Rome has tales of Witches who spent time mixing magical brews of herbs and gruesome animal parts. Described having long hair and running about bare foot. They thought to be at graveyards digging up bones poisonus plants or the goddess Diana goddess of the moon and hunting or Hecate goddess of fertility and the queen if the night. Other witches were thought to raise up spirits and kill with a glance. The witches of Thessaly (in northern Greece) were believed to have be so powerful they could pull the moon down to earth to use the power of it for their own purposes.
A friend sent me this beautiful pic ... and it is ohhhhhhh so true ... so I thought I'd pass it on ....
Take care and all the best
