It's curious that I have been thinking very much like you have as I selected this painting. What an interesting time and place it must be! Remember, these masterpieces were made around the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, some three or four hundred years ago. At the time, the painters' expertise in color and composition had reached unequalled heights.
