Nick, isn't there a difference between shopping and buying? I guess it depends on attitude and/or money available. Some people get kicks out of shopping even if they have no money to spend. Others go into a store to buy only when they know what they want.
Here's an example of impulse buying. I went into a J. C. Penny store to get some brown over-the-calf socks. I found some. Then I headed to one of the cashier spots to do what one does at a cashier spot, pay. On the way, I saw some radio-controlled cars for half price. A big sign said, "50% off." I went to the cashier and requested a price check. She said, "sixty dollars." I told her about the sign and asked her to come with me. We went to the table with all the boxes of racers. Sure enough, $30 cars were going for $14.99, according to the sign. The cars were all alike. She said, "OK, you can have it for $14.99." I have no idea about te $60 price; neither did she.
What am I going to do with the car? What do you think? I'm going to play with it. I might even let my grandsons run it.
