I have to share this with you!
In our church we have a program called "Care & Share" where those who are hurting either, physically, emotionally or spiritually can come and receive a meal. It's not a "soup kitchen” per se; but more of an encouragement for folks centered a round a meal. We do have those that come that would go hungry if the program was not there...but the format is so cheerful and homey that it helps folk keep their dignity intact.
The program is run souley on donations given by our small church congregation and every week is different as to what is on the menu.
One week though we were struggling and I took a box of chicken out of my freezer, when I did I noticed my freezer was getting emptier, and it was a sacrifice to donate the meat. I asked the Lord right then and there if he would look after my freezer and see that it was filled. I couldn't/wouldn’t see folks go hungry for anything!
Well, we all know that the Lord loves to answer prayers like that.
Last night a "mad man" ran into my house, lifted the lid on my freezer and asked how much space I had. "Great!" he said, "You can take two."
Within an hour he returned with over 200 lbs of meat that had been donated to the church. My freezer was filled!
Needless to say, but at the same time it must be said! The love that I felt coming from my heavenly father was incredible beyond words! Awesome! Inspiring!
Encouragement to go on!
